Show #4 – May 2, 2007

Come on in, it’s show #4 this week! WARNING: You may be dancing the Kermambo before the end of the show.

Once you’ve listened to the show this week, click over to The Magical Definition Podcast, one of the best Disney podcasts on the web!

Some good news this week concerning Statler & Waldorf: From the Balcony! Also, a new trailer for The Muppet Show Season Two can be found in the new Dinosaurs: Seasons 3 & 4 DVD set. We also take a look at Kermit as the spokesfrog for the Ford Escape Hybrid, and feature some great audio!

Great emails this week! We have an email from an amateur videographer who has some AWESOME videos posted on youtube. The links are in the show notes under Show #4 in the forums. Also some correspondence from the show organizer for “Muppets, Music & Magic”, the travelling Henson exhibit. AND a great email that talks about a TV special I bet you never knew existed.

Our first contest is up and running! Got a good Muppet impression? Click over to the Contest page for the rules, but the top prize is an autographed copy of Before You Leap, signed by Jim Lewis to the winner!

The Muppet Webiste of the Week comes to us this week courtesy of Peter Valentin, from Australia! Check out Peter’s Online Toy Museum, packed with some great, and in some cases extremely rare collectibles.

We need your submissions for the upcoming Jim Henson Memorial episode, a special-edition podcast coming soon. I would like you to send me either an email, or even better, some recorded audio of you talking about what Jim Henson and his work has meant to you. The idea is to mainly feature user comments for this show, in a respectful tribute to Mr. Henson. I’m going to need your help on this one, so please send in comments.

A little more wackiness, a few jokes, and that’s the show this week!

Wow,what a HUGE show, literaly! A great way to celebrate your first month of broadcasting. But I would prefer the normal running time to be around 30 minutes. As Kermit says- if it is dial up,(which I have)it could take all day to download. But seriously, thanks for the great honor of having my toy museum website as the website of the week.

Steve, What a great show! I was wondering if the radio fees would have to paid if the radio station was outside the US? In other words couldn’t The Muppet Central Live station run out of Canada and not have to face the US “penalty” fees? Just wondering.

Great Show as usuall, Cannot wait for the Jim Henson special. My favorite segment has to be the Muppets Unplugged because you can actually sing quite well and you do songs that are so adictive (to me anyway) that i have to listen and listen and listen and listen and listen and listen and listen (ok i think you’ve got the point) and listen over and over again. You’ve got a great show here and once its been online for a while the new shows will get more freeflowing and more fun in away. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

    Hey Tom,
I don’t think MC Radio could easily “just move” out of the US. As I understand it, there are two things to consider here:
    1) MC Radio is part of Live365, so doesn’t quite have the “free agent” status to pick up and move.
    2) It would be quite difficult for Live365 to relocate from the US to Canada, or elsewhere. That would be quite a drastic move for the folks who work for Live365.

I wish it were easier, but there are good things happening to block this ruling. I’m cautiously optimistic.
    –Steve
