Welcome back for show #7! I know, it’s been a while, but we’re now on a Sunday release schedule, and you won’t have to endure a week-and-a-half wait ever again! This show is worth the wait, though.
On the news front this week, I was delighted to learn that Comcast cable’s On Demand service offers new free episodes of Puppet Up! I don’t know if Time Warner has the same offerings, but TBS is featuring four new Puppet Up skits per week, so check ’em out. There’s a new Official Henson Company Podcast to listen to, so go check it out (after you’ve listened to the MuppetCast, of course). Master Replicas has announced that their next photo puppet will be…Animal! Also, Kevin Clash has been named Senior Creative Advisor for Sesame Workshop, which is fantasitc news!
Some great emails this week, and some of them with great attachments! Remember, you can always email me@muppetcast.com, and I do respond. It’s been so great getting to know so many of the listeners, and if you haven’t emailed me, just drop me a note and say hi! I’d love to hear from you. David Quesal sent in this week’s Muppets Unplugged song, his own rendition of “I Swear” from Fraggle Rock.
Hey I just thought of this, anybody know what the Dead Hensons are doing? If anyone can hook me up with them for an interview or to get some music, let me know.
The Muppet Impression Contest will continue for at least two more weeks. Right now I only have two submissions, so YOU CAN WIN THIS! Send in your audio recorded impressions via email. Make sure you tell me which character you’re impersonating!
Two outstanding interviews this week, first with Roger Langridge in London, UK. Roger is the artist and creator of the new Muppets comic strip to be featured in Disney Adventures magazine! Roger talks about how he pursued his dreams of becoming an artist, how he got the job doing the new strips, and his approach to the Muppets in his art. The second interview this week is with The Wippets, a wonderful group of people in Canada. The Wippets post new episodes regularly on their blog and in iTunes, and are very creative and talented people. Make sure you drop them a line and say hi!
Lots of Muppet music this week, and throughout the whole show we celebrate the opening of the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, “At World’s End” with all kinds of great Muppet music.
Let me know your thoughts on the new show, and as always, Enjoy!
