I start off this week talking a bit about my recent conversation with Mr. Arthur Novel from the Jim Henson Legacy, an organization dedicated to preserving and perpetuating Jim Henson?s contributions to the worlds of puppetry, television, motion pictures, special effects and media technology. Kind of like us here at the MuppetCast!
Before we get into the news this week, I just had an itch to play something, so we hear Chanson D’Amour, from the Rich Little episode of the Muppet Show, season 2. Good stuff in the news this week from Sesame Workshop, the Muppets, Music & Magic tour (as well as Jim Henson’s Fantastic World), and puppetry in general. Another clip from Puppet Up, and we’re in the Interview Loft with Gordon Smuder, a very fine pupetter and shop master for MNFX. Gordon was involved with Fox Network’s On The Lot reality show. He takes some time to talk about just what goes into making a one-minute movie staring drunk alien puppets! He also has a website dedicated to his puppet activities, PuppetForge.com, which I checked out this week and it rocks! Gordon has some great stories to tell, so don’t miss it!
Andrew Smith joins the MuppetCast this week with a weekly segment from the UK! Andrew offers a British perspective on the Muppets, which is extremely valuable since so much of the Muppet productions have deep roots in the UK. You can’t miss this segment, Andrew brings a wonderful new dimension to the podcast. “Muppety goodnes” abounds!
Some Muppet music, a new unplugged song from me (“Imagination” from Sesame Street), and we’re out!
