Show #32 – November 18, 2007

Welcome to the MuppetCast, a weekly podcast dedicated to the work of Jim Henson and the Muppets. Brought to you weekly by Bell, Book & Comic.

If you’re going to MouseFest 2007, make sure to attend Muppet Meets, a Muppet fan meet held by MagicMeets.com!

The MuppetCast still needs listeners to give reviews in iTunes! As of Nov 18, 2007 there are 15 reviews for the podcast. Let’s push it up to 20!

Lots of great stuff coming out of the Muppet News Flash, ToughPigs, and SwineHearts this week. Too much to mention here, but make sure you bookmark all 3 of these wonderful Muppet websites.

Watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year to see the new Abby Cadabby giant balloon. There have been lots of Muppet balloons in the parade in past years, including Kermit, Super Grover, and Big Bird.

The Muppet News Flash is running a Muppet fan art contest, with the top 12 winners’ artwork being featured in the first ever Muppet fan art calendar! Check out the MNF contest page.

Here are 3 video links from NBC.com, things from recent and long ago Muppet appearances. Click on the first, second, and third links to enjoy them.

Listener David Hellyer is a puppeteer with his own YouTube channel, found at youtube.com.crex81. Visit his website and his blog this week.

Matt Surowiec and the Tricentennial Band have recently released the Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas 30th anniversary tribute album. They also have two YouTube videos, seen here and here. The direct link to the album in iTunes can be found here.

George Gaspar, of the ToyBreak podcast, has some new photos online from MuppetVision 3D. Hello to all the DCA MuppetVision Cast Members, yaaaaay!

We finally get around to reviewing the new Fraggle Rockin’ 3-disc set which was released in late October 2007. This is a great CD set, make sure you buy a copy of this before it goes out of print and you have to wait several more years for a re-release!

Another look at Fraggle Rock UK! The episode we look at from both sides of the pond is “Boober’s Quiet Day”. This is one of the best episodes from the second season, so I hope you enjoy this in-depth look at the episode, and its treatment by both the US and UK production teams.

Questions? Comments? Send them to me@muppetcast.com, or call in to the official voice line at 614-364-4270. I can’t wait to hear from you!

Have a great week.
