It’s that time of year again! The MuppetCast is coming to you “live” from the Mid-Ohio Comic Con in Columbus, OH. I’m here helping at the Bell, Book & Comic table (Life should be more Fun!) and having a great time. I met a lot of interesting people over the weekend – artists, writers, etc – and you’ll hear from some of them on the show.
A very special thank you to this week’s guests:
Patrick & Shelly Block

Brett Pinson
Don’t forget, if you’re going to be in or around Walt Disney World next weekend make sure to stop by and say hello Sunday Oct 11! That day at 3pm I’ll be holding the First-Ever Genuine No-Money-Back Guarantee MuppetCast MuppetVision 3D Meet! Fun and prizes await! The meet is part of the 2nd annual MouseGuest Experience fan event. For more information on the entire schedule visit the MGE official website.
Make sure to visit The MuppetCast Flickr Page for all the new additions. Keep them coming!
Rafi Levavy sent a link to the official Muppets Studio page in iTunes! Nice to have everything in one central location.
Stuart Reeves is in the midst of putting together a beautiful Muppet 3D piece. You can see his progress on his Flickr page.
Listener SesameStMuppets sent a link to the trailer for his upcoming Christmas show “Dont Watch ‘Til Christmas Eve II“.
David Rollinson directed me to the Arts & Framing Putnam website, where you can find some artwork and a short video of Muppeteer Caroll Spinney! Mr. Spinney performs Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street.
Dave Hulteen sent a new original drawing – “The WatchMuppets“!
ComicBookResources.com has a new article talking with Grace Randolph and Amy Mebberson about their writing and artwork in the new Muppet Peter Pan comic.
Have you ever seen Jim Henson’s short film “Time Piece”? This was an early Henson project, dating back to the 1960s. Click here to view the film (just under 9 minutes) in its entirety.
Sesame Workshop gives us some sneak peeks into its upcoming landmark Season 40. Take a look at First Lady Michele Obama teaching Elmo and the kids how to plant a garden, the much-anticipated Mad Men parody, and even the new Season 40 show opening!
Oscar the Grouch is missing! Well not necessarily. Many Canadians claim that they’ve seen him popping up here and there. It’s suspected that Oscar is learning about waste reduction in Canada, since for the second year in a row he’s been named the official spokes-Muppet of Waste Reduction Week. Great website for the project here.
Movieline.com brings us 5 mind-blowing Muppet revelations. Maybe not mind-blowing, but definitely a good read.
Northstar National.com has a great opinion piece dissecting some of the claims that classic Sesame Street (1970s – 1980s) is too politically incorrect for today’s youth. Grab a plate of cookies and settle in for a great read!
